It’s fight week, ladies and gentlemen, and that means that everyone islooking for the best Wilder vs. Fury bets for the big rematch. Well, you’ll behappy to know that I’ve found some good ones.
Boxing Odds, Lines and Props Bovada. Gambling should be entertaining. Remember that you always risk losing the money you bet, so do not spend more than you can afford to lose. At 30 years old, Fury is three years Wilder's junior. His record is 27-0, but doesn't pack that same knockout punch as Wilder. Only 19 of Fury's victories have come through stoppage. Nonetheless, Fury. Fury spent most of his time circling the leaner more wiry Wilder feinting heavily and leading with the jab. Deontay plodded forward usually with his hands up waiting for his chance to throw that rigor mortis.
It goes without saying that Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury 2 is the biggestfight of the year and could end up going down as a stone-cold classic. If theodds you can find via thetop boxingbetting sites are anything to go by, this one will be epic.
Anyone who watched the first encounter between these two back in December2018 wanted to see the rematch as soon as that last bell rang. Well, we mighthave waited a little longer than first anticipated, but we’re almost there now.
So, question time. Will you betting on Wilder to knock out Fury on Saturday,February 22? Or is the smart money to be found on Fury outboxing the ferocious“Bronze Bomber”?
Isn’t this what makes this fight such a potentially great one? I mean, hereyou have the classic matchup of boxer vs. power puncher. And to be fair, thereis not a lot to separate both of these guys.
With this in mind, I have highlighted some of the best Wilder vs. Fury 2 betsfor you. All bets and odds below come courtesy of Bovada.
- Fury to Win: EVENS
Whatever way you look at this fight, you have to admit that there was next tonothing between these two the first time around.
The odds for Fury beating WBC champion Wilder this time around prove that.Furthermore, you will struggle to find anyone with an above-average knowledge ofthe sport that is 100% certain that either guy will win easily.
This means that you can get great odds on Wilder vs. Fury 2, regardless ofwho you are backing.
So, for those betting on Fury to beat Wilder, the moneyline is good enough. You can get EVENS on Fury just to win the fight. This means that he can win onpoints, or by stoppage, for example, and you will win your bet.
There has been a lot of talk around Fury coming into this fight heavier thanlast time. Given that Fury and his team believed that he had done enough to winthe fight but were essentially at the mercy of judges who were always going togive the fight to Wilder, he wants to make sure his destiny is in his hands thistime around.
I don’t believe this for one second. Fury is not known for being a hardpuncher. He is, however, known for his elusive, slick boxing skills. These arethe skills that caused Wilder so many problems in that first fight.
In my mainWilder vs. Fury 2 preview, I spoke about how I believe Fury’s style is theright one to beat the champ. Change that up, though, and Fury will be giving uphis advantages to Wilder.
Suddenly, what comes across as a 50/50 fight now turns 70/30 in favor ofWilder.
Another thing that cannot be underestimated is this — Fury’s cut sustainedagainst Otto Wallin last year could be reopened. If he wants to stand there andtrade with Wilder from the first, you can bet it will be opened very early.
Still, if you are backing Fury to win this fight, I think the moneyline isthe safest bet.
- Wilder to Win -130
Deontay Wilder is arguably the hardest puncher in the history of theheavyweight division.
Or, to be more precise, he has the hardest right hand in the sport.
Therefore, there are many betting on Wilder to knock Fury out. After all, in42 wins, he has only ever gone the distance once. That’s 41 KOs, folks.
But many of those knockouts have come against inferior opposition.
Fury is the best opponent he has ever faced, and he arguably lost that fight.Officially, it ended in a draw.
But didn’t he come close to handing Fury his first-ever loss and KO?
So, there is scope to suggest that Wilder can do better this time around.Even if Fury had ring rust and was a little out of shape the first time around.
This will be the third rematch of Wilder’s career, after Bermane Stiverne andLuis Ortiz. Not only did Wilder win both rematches, but he looked markedlybetter on both occasions.
Wilder knocked out Stiverne in one round in November 2017 following theirJanuary 2015 WBC heavyweight title fight. He also knocked Ortiz out in sevenrounds in November 2019, having stopped the Cuban in ten back in March 2018.
Now, I’m not saying that this is something to completely base your choice on,but it does suggest that Wilder can make adjustments.
Against Fury, he had little success landing his shots until the final quarterof the fight. If Wilder and his team have worked hard studying the tape of thatfirst fight and have identified a pattern in Fury’s slipping and movement, hecould set him up to land a big shot much earlier.
If that happens, it could be lights out for Fury. Then again, maybe he won’tbe able to put his man away, which means betting on Wilder to knock out Furymight not be the greatest bet in the world after all.
The moneyline is more than good enough, in my opinion.
- Yes: EVENS
Once again, this is a bet that relies on Wilder not being able to get Furyout of there inside the distance. Well, at least in my opinion.
Fury, put simply, is not a power puncher. He doesn’t have that ability andwill not be the first man ever to stop Wilder. Look, if that happens, it wouldbe a huge shock. It’s not going to happen; let’s just leave it there.
Now, Wilder is the power puncher. But even though he landed on Fury — anddropped him on a couple of occasions in the first fight — he couldn’t get himout of there.
So, what are the chances of Wilder being able to put Fury away, inside thedistance, this time around?
Admittedly, he has a great chance of doing it. It helps that Fury’s cutsustained against Wallin could be reopened. So, with that added factor of Furypotentially being stopped due to an opened cut, it’s easy to throw all your eggsin Wilder’s basket.
But there is another way of looking at things.
Fury will be stepping into the ring much fresher. He will be in much bettershape and sharper as a result. Under the tutelage of SugarHill Steward, itremains to be seen how much better he will look, but the fight going thedistance is a good bet at EVENS.
In order for you to win this bet, you will need Fury to be at his best. Ifyou believe that he is serious about bulking up and going for the stoppage overFury, by all means, skip this bet. But I am certain that this is just talkdesigned to throw Wilder off.
Or the safest Wilder vs. Fury 2 bets? Maybe the most popular Wilder vs. Furybets to make on the rematch?
Well, that is a matter of opinion. At the end of the day, we don’t know whatis going to happen on February 22 when these two go at it for the WBC title.
The first match was iconic, mostly because of how Fury dealt with theknockout artist. When he rose from the canvas in the 12th, he wonmillions of new fans across the globe. Will we witness a similar story this timearound?
Whatever happens, I think us boxing fans are in for a treat on the night.
Good luck with your bets!
